By default, all dates and times in a published entry are public, and tickets remain available until or even during the event.
You can customise your settings to:
Set when tickets become available for booking.
Specify when ticket sales close for each date/time in an entry.
This is particularly useful for early bird tickets and setting cut-off times to prevent last-minute bookings.
This article covers:
Restrict when tickets are available for booking
To restrict when tickets are available for booking:
Open your Scheduling page.
Select the entry on the page and then Edit entry:
Select the Tickets & Costs tab and open your ticket settings.
Tick the Restrict when this ticket will be available checkbox:
You can then set when the ticket becomes available and closes:
Relative to start: Choose how many days before the event the ticket should become available and/or when it should no longer be available for purchase.
Fixed date: Set a specific date for when the ticket should become available or close.
💡 Important notes:
To match the Relative to start option with the event start time, enter 0 in the days field. This ensures the blank time field is applied correctly.
If your entry has multiple tickets, you’ll need to apply these settings individually to each ticket.
Set when your events are revealed on your public page
You can restrict your settings to only reveal reoccurring events for a limited amount of time in advance.
To do this:
Open your Scheduling page, select the entry on the page and then Edit entry:
Select the Dates & Times tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Tick the Hide events in future? checkbox:
You can set how far in advance your events appear on your page by entering a specific number of minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months. For example:
If set to one month, customers will only be able to view and book dates up to one month from the day they visit your page. Dates beyond that timeframe won’t be visible or available for booking.
💡 Ticket closing times and checkout reservations
If a ticket has a set closing time, but a customer adds it to their basket before that time, they can still complete their booking as long as their checkout reservation is active. For example:
If a ticket is set to close at 2 p.m., but a customer adds it to their basket at 1:58 p.m., and the checkout reservation period is 15 minutes, they will have until 2:13 p.m. to complete their booking, even though the ticket has technically 'closed' to new bookings.
