When using Vouchers on Bookwhen, it's good to know what’s possible, where there are some limitations and how to safely test the voucher journey before making it available to customers.
This article covers:
What admin users can do
As an admin user, you can do the following:
Add multiple vouchers to each schedule page.
Make a single voucher available on multiple schedule pages.
Support mixed basket checkout that includes voucher purchases and offline payment events.
If a payment is required for the offline event, it will still be enforced at checkout.
Allow customers to buy tickets, passes, or memberships using a voucher.
Combine a voucher with a discount code at checkout.
What admin users can’t do
As an admin user, you are restricted from doing the following:
Discounts can’t be used on voucher purchases.
Customers must pay full price when buying a voucher.
Vouchers won’t update automatically when a new schedule page is added.
You will need to manually update vouchers to include new schedule pages.
If a schedule page is removed from a voucher, customers won’t be able to use the voucher for events on that page.
If needed, offer an alternative or update the voucher settings.
Testing
You can test the voucher process by:
Creating a voucher for a low amount (for example, £1 or the Stripe minimum of £0.30).
Going through the purchase flow as a customer.
Unpublishing the voucher after testing.
This helps you confirm everything’s working smoothly before offering vouchers to customers.
