Facebook is a powerful tool for bringing potential customers to your public page or event. You can add a direct link from your Facebook business page, making it easier for customers to find and book your events.
This article covers:
Where to add your public page link on Facebook
๐ก Important: Public page URLs must start with www. instead of https://.
If you begin your URL with https://, Facebook will flag it as an invalid web address.
To add your Bookwhen link to your Facebook page:
First, ensure you have a Facebook business page set up. If you only have a personal profile, go to Pages on Facebook and select Create Page.
Once logged into your business page, select the + Add a Button (blue button on the right-hand side).
Choose Contact Us or Shop Now option, then paste in your Bookwhen public page link.
โ ๏ธ Please note: Facebook allows only one button option at a time on your page. Shop Now is a good option to use to to direct visitors to your public page, as it aligns with the idea of purchasing a ticket.
Adding an event URL
You can also direct your customers to a single event by adding the event URL instead of the entire public page.
Shop Now option
When a customer selects the Shop now button, Facebook redirects them to your public page or a single event, whichever you have chosen.
Contact Us option
When a customer selects the blue Contact Us button, Facebook redirects them to your public page or a single event, whichever you have chosen.
About section
Adding your link to the About section on Facebook can be a great way to promote your events. This ensures the link is always visible on your page, making it easy for customers to find and book.
Advertising your public page link within a post
You can promote your business or events by posting on your Facebook page to make it easy for customers to find and book an event. For example, a yoga studio might share a discount code to encourage bookings, or a reminder for a special event.
Important note regarding the 'Book now' button
The 'Book now' button is currently unavailable for Bookwhen customers.
We understand this may be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience. We are in regular contact with Facebook to request access to this feature, which they refer to as "Action Buttons." However, Facebook is rolling out this functionality gradually and only offering it to a limited number of providers at a time. Unfortunately, Bookwhen has not been selected yet. We will continue working with Facebook in the hope of being included.
Additional tips
If you plan to share your booking link on Facebook, we recommend adding a short note in the General information field on your public page or setting an Alert message to keep customers informed.
To do this:
Open the relevant public page.
Select Customise page and scroll down to the Alert message or General information fields:
When the General information or Alert message sections are left blank and you share your Bookwhen link on Facebook, a message about cookies may appear instead:
The cookie message may confuse your customers and is also a missed opportunity to promote your page further.
