Please note: Passes are only available on the Standard plan or above.

Group or family passes allow customers to use a single pass to cover more than one space on a class or event, for example, a parent and child or multiple siblings attending together. Essentially, you can let multiple people attend with one pass.

This article covers:

Creating your pass

To create a group or family pass:

  1. Select Packages & Discounts, then Passes from the left-hand menu on your account.

  2. Select Create a new pass:

Passes screen with an arrow pointing at the 'Create a new pass' button

  3. Under Pass name, enter a name that reflects who the pass is for, for example, Family pass or Bring a friend pass, and add any additional details under Futher details that might help customers when viewing the pass:

Display section of the pass setup with the 'Pass name' field highlighted

  4. Add a price, how many uses you would like to allow, and select Valid for additional attendees under Single use per event?:

Usage restriction section of the pass settings screen with an arrow pointing at the 'Valid for additional attendees' option

  5. Add any additional restrictions, such as what the pass applies to, validity period and availability.

  6. Once you're happy with the settings, select Save changes.

Adding new or duplicated events to a pass

The system treats each event entry separately, even if it’s a duplicate. This means that if you have a restricted pass, you’ll need to manually add any new or duplicate entries to the pass so it works as expected.

How to do this:

  1. Select Packages & Discounts, then Passes from the left-hand menu on your account.

  2. Locate your pass, then select Edit next to the relevant pass to open the settings.

  3. Select Add usage restriction within the pass settings to review/add new or duplicated entries/tickets:

Pass setup screen with an arrow pointing at the 'Add usage restriction' button

💡 To note: The drop-down shows entries by the next upcoming date, but all future dates in that entry will be covered. For example:

Pass settings with an arrow pointing at the date at the end of the entry within the entry settings

Things to note

  • There isn’t a way to limit how many people a customer adds to their pass. However, you can restrict the number of uses on the pass to match the intended family use. This way, it can only be redeemed that many times.

    • For example, if you offer a family pass for 4 people and you would like to offer them an event once a week, you can restrict the pass to 16.

  • Passes only apply to events that you assign to them.

  • Customers cannot use a group pass for more spaces than it’s set up for, unless you set the pass to unlimited uses.

  • Group tickets do not currently appear on the ticket restriction list. Customers still need to redeem their pass against individual/single tickets.

  • A pass cannot be redeemed against a free ticket or a ticket at no cost.
