If you use Stripe to take payments, your invoices include tax details for each transaction. Accessing this information helps you stay on top of VAT, sales tax, or other applicable charges for your records.

This article explains how to locate and review tax details on your Stripe invoices.

Overview

Stripe invoices are now available for all accounts using Stripe.

  • Invoices include tax details (if the tax feature is enabled) and a full payment breakdown.

  • You can access invoices directly from Stripe and send them to customers if they need a VAT or itemised invoice.

  • A processing fee of 0.4% applies to invoices. Responsibility for this fee may vary.

Viewing Stripe invoices

To view your Stripe invoice:

  1. Select Bookings from the left-hand menu on your account.

  2. You can find the booking in the bookings list by scrolling or using the search filters and selecting Search to generate the results.

  3. Once located, select the hyperlinked booking reference to open the booking:

Retrieving or sharing tax information

Open the invoice to access:

  • Tax details (if the tax feature is enabled).

  • A full payment breakdown.

  • The option to download the invoice as a PDF.

Alternatively, use Stripe’s Send receipt function in the Receipt History section of the transaction record to email the invoice directly to the customer.

💡 Please note: You cannot download a tax report from Stripe. To get a tax report, it's best to download a Bookings report from within Bookwhen.
